Worthing
Our School of English is a large Victorian
building, a short walk from the station, town
centre and sea. There are 9 classrooms, each has
audio-visual aids, including TV and video. There is
a students' lounge with widescreen TV, table tennis
and drinks machine: and gardens. Outside class
hours, you can study privately in the self-access
library and use the computer room where you can
send and receive email and browse the Internet free
of charge. Teaching staff will help you select
private study material, including CDs, books and
cassettes. There is a full social programme for all
students with various acitivities (not included in
your fee).
Airport
Heathrow: 1½ hours from Worthing by car
(take the bus to Gatwick, then train)
Gatwick: 40 mins by car/train (a railway station is
situated within the airport)
Stansted: 2 hours from Worthing
Buses
Stagecoach buses run regular routes throughout
the town, and to nearby cities &
towns.
Rail
Worthing station is near to the school and
town.
Taxis
These are based outside the stations and in the
town.

Most Post offices are open Monday-Friday 9am to
5.30pm and some are open on Saturdays from 9am to
1pm.
Banks
Most Banks are open Monday-Friday 9.30am to
4.30pm.
Shops
Most shops are open Monday-Friday 9am to
5.30pm. Many city centre stores open on Sunday from
12pm to 6pm.
Tourist
Office
Worthing Tourist Office is based near to the
school and the museum.
Pubs
Opening hours vary throughout the town pubs,
and usually stay open late on Friday and Saturday
evenings. Students must be aged over 18 years to be
allowed to drink alcohol and it may be advisable to
carry ID when visiting a town pub. Many are
'café' type pubs and offer food throughout
the day and early evening.

London
Swandean/CES School of English has 11 classrooms,
an internet room with 10 computers and a self study
room.
The lounge has a
42" plasma TV screen with digital channels, a hot
and cold drink vending machine, a free hot/cold
water machine and comfortable chairs and tables.
There is an awning outside for sun/ rain
protection, and there are picnic tables and chairs
on the patio. There is a sandwich delivery service
in the morning break and there is a large pub right
next door, good for lunch (and it has pool tables
and SKYTV). Opposite the school there is an Italian
bakery and a mini supermarket. Round the corner
there is a newsagent where students can also buy
travel cards.
Airport
Heathrow: underground train to Wimbledon
Gatwick: train to Clapham Junction, then to
Wimbledon
Eurostar: train directly to Wimbledon
Rail
It is only a short walk from the Underground
and Mainline stations.

Dublin
Centre of English Studies' main building is
situated in the very heart of Dublin on the same
street as Dublin Castle and Trinity College. The
school is located in an attractive period building
with 9 fully equipped classrooms and a Students'
Room. CES has an additional training centre - Dame
Court House - only 30 metres from Dame Street. Dame
Court House has 16 bright modern classrooms, a
Students' lounge and coffee room, Self-Access Study
facilities, Listening Centre and a Multi-Media Room
with free email and internet access.
Buses
Dublin Bus operates the city's bus routes running
from 6am to 11.30pm. There is also a limited late
night "Nitelink" bus service on Thursdays, Fridays
and Saturdays. Dublin Bus now operates a policy of
exact fare on all routes so it is advisable to have
your correct change ready when boarding the bus.
Discounted student travel tickets are available for
sale at CES reception in Dame Street.
Rail
DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transit) railway
stretches the full length of Dublin Bay, from Howth
and Malahide on the north side to Greystones in Co.
Wicklow in the South.
Luas - The Dublin
Luas system came into action in June 2004, it is a
state of the art Light Rail Transit (LRT)
system.
Taxis
Three of the main taxi ranks in the city centre
are located on O'Connell Street, Dame Street and St
Stephens Green. Numerous private taxi companies
also operate throughout Dublin City and
County.

Most Post offices are open Monday-Friday 9am to
5.30pm and some are open on Saturdays from 9am to
1pm.
Banks
Most Banks are open Monday-Friday 10am to 4pm with
late opening on Thursday until 5pm.

Pubs
Official opening hours for pubs are Sunday-Thursday
10.30am to 11.30pm. Friday and Saturday from
10.30am to 12.30am. Many pubs in the city centre
are granted later licences at weekends. All pubs
are now non-smoking.

Bournemouth
King's Bournemouth is open all year
and is situated in a smart residential area only 5
minutes' walk from Bournemouth town centre. This
school offers year-round courses for adults and
also summer courses for students, and offers a
friendly and relaxed atmosphere to its visitors.
There are 2 restaurants (selection of English,
Oriental, Middle Eastern and European food) and
gardens. In-school facilities include basketball /
volleyball, table-tennis, big screen video,
self-access study centre and computer room (free
email and internet). Programme of weekly videos and
social events.
Airport
Bournemouth's international airport is about 15
minutes' drive from the town centre. You can catch
either the bus or taxis to take you to the city
centre.
Buses
There are a number of buses, which stop near
school.
Rail
The train centre is about 10 minutes from the
town centre. The coach station is opposite the
train station.

Bournemouth. They operate 24 hours a
day.
